In Brisbane’s inner-city district of Albion, our pastry chefs may be seen producing our unique delicacies in a commercial kitchen adjacent to our retail store. All of our packaged items–biscuits, chocolates, nougat, panforte, and preserves, to name a few–are created in our kitchen and packed in-store, in addition to freshly baked cakes and pastries. Each loaf is a standout example of its type: sourdough has a thick crust and a unique tang, baguettes have a crisp–not flaky–crumb and ciabattas have a moist crumb and chewy crust.
Dello Mano
Dello Mano is an artisanal bakery in the heart of Brisbane’s historic district. We are a family-owned business dedicated to bringing the world beautiful, handcrafted cuisine. Everything that comes out of our bakery is imbued with our and our team’s love of food, our collective concern for our clients, and a few sprinklings of our personal family life story, much like the best authentically homemade food.
Our company started with just one product: a Luxury Classic Belgian Chocolate Brownie. This brownie’s seeming simplicity conceals the months of development that went into it; before we were confident in our recipe, we put our friends and neighbors through endless rounds of trial and error. We baked everything out of a shared local football club kitchen in the early days of our business, after we eventually landed on a recipe. We’d feed our tiny children and pack up our entire household before selling online, relying almost exclusively on word-of-mouth marketing. Those modest efforts paid off, and we were invited to join in the Powerhouse Farmers Market, which was at the time Brisbane’s most prestigious market of its sort. In homemade uniforms and branded bandanas, our children, then eight and ten, were more than happy to assist manage the booth. The small stall we set up at that farmers’ market every week provided the foundation for a decade of steady expansion.
Shingle Inn
Shingle Inn, which opened in the autumn of 1936 during the Great Depression, is more than simply a company; it is a fascinating part of Australia’s, and notably Brisbane’s, history.
The Shingle Inn has grown from a single store that stood alone for 66 years to a franchise network of 40 cafes across Australia.
Directors Andrew and Peter Bellchambers are second-generation owners of their parents’ family business. Andrew and Peter believe that food is the common thread that binds friends and family, and they are dedicated to continuing Shingle Inn’s long tradition of using fresh ingredients and adhering to long-held traditions and recipes, as well as developing new products to keep the business relevant for future generations.

Our purposely modest artisan cakery is reintroducing the concept of “excellent taste” into cake creation. When I was 19 years old, my mother bought me my first cake decorating cookbook, and thus began my love affair with cakes. I began creating cakes and cupcakes for all of my friends and family and quickly became enamored with the process. Cake decorating brought together two of my greatest passions: art and culinary.
I’ve decided to break away from the day-to-day cake grind after more than a decade in the profession. My ambition is to inspire other cake artists and pass on the information and skills I’ve gained over the previous ten years.

Sherie developed a passion for cakes while working at a family-owned company that produces Vanilla Essence and flavorings. Sherie got the cake bug here and began baking cakes and pastries using the delicious flavorings and essences before devouring them for morning tea! Sherie quickly became the resident cake maker among friends and family, and the bug quickly turned into an obsession, and The Flour Girl was born. Sherie believes that cakes have always had a whimsical quality to them, whether it’s a beautifully decorated morsel of sweetness known as the much-loved simple cupcake or an exquisite and majestic multi-tiered masterpiece. She appreciates the hours of love poured into each creation, as well as the finer details of the gorgeous hand, crafted decorations created by drawing inspiration from your personal style, elements of your special event such as a specially designed and crafted invitation, a stunningly beautiful wedding gown, an inspirational color palette, or even something as simple as a child′s favorite toy.
